Advanced
Lean Coach

(Lean Competency
System: Level 2a)

We’ve designed our Advanced Lean Coach course specifically for lean and continuous improvement (CI) professionals looking to take a step into truly transformational change, either at organisational or value stream level.

About the course

Participants will benefit from a combination of training and coaching support that will enable them to drive and sustain the implementation of lean and CI principles in their organisation, supply chain or value stream. They’ll learn how to drive strategic change, demonstrate their technical knowledge and leadership, and link improvement projects to the delivery of business objectives.

Advanced Lean Coach

Who is the course for?

It’s for lean and CI professionals who want to build on their knowledge of lean principles and problem solving.

Step 1: the training

The 3-day training course will deepen your understanding of advanced lean tools and techniques, particularly in relation to value stream redesign and end-to-end organisational change.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Facilitate and influence strategic goal-setting – and how to link improvement activity to the delivery of these goals
  • Track project progress and plan resources to ensure delivery targets are met
  • Align lean leadership principles to change delivery
  • Set standards by demonstrating appropriate coaching and leadership behaviour

Step 2: putting the theory into practice

Supported by coaching from one of our expert lean coaches, you must demonstrate how you’ve designed and led a sustainable programme of improvement across your organisation. You’ll also need to show how this programme has delivered a significant – and potentially transformational – benefit to the business.

Key benefits

  • You’ll be able to facilitate strategic objective setting and policy deployment activity with leadership teams

  • You’ll be able to put theory into practice through delivery of a strategic improvement programme that benefits your organisation
